NEW YORK — Tim Gunn is taking his fight against fashion crimes from the workrooms of “Project Runway” to the pages of a comic book. And, wow, does he get to wear a power suit.
The “Loaded Gunn” story line — to save an exhibit of extraordinary superhero clothes from a cadre of villains — is part of a book that reintroduces a group of Marvel’s high-fashion “Models Inc.” comic characters from the 1960s.
“It’s a little `America’s Next Top Model‘ — without Tyra (Banks) — and a little `Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,’” says Marvel editor Charlie Beckerman.
The Gunn project evolved on a whim, but it turned out Gunn was a childhood comic fan and a good sport, Beckerman says.

When the first photo from the set of SATC2 landed on our desks, we did a double-take. The sexy ’70s jersey dress, the killer sparkly disco heels, the oh-so-Studio 54 clutch… surely that’s Rachel Zoe? Actually, non, it’s Mrs Big, aka Carrie Bradshaw, dressed by that other superstar stylist: Patricia Field.
Even so, we’re loving the Zoe-bot look on SJP. But what we’re really dying to know is: who won the SATC2 Fashion Battle?

So obviously I get up to get water more than the average person and the reason is simply for the water cooler gossip. This week the water cooler buzz has been about Tommy Hilfiger possibly snapping up Peter Som as his Creative Director. WWD is reporting that Tommy Hilfiger has been looking for a Creative Director since 2007. No word yet on why the position hadn’t been filled. Camp Som and Camp Hilfiger are keeping mum about the their possible future relationship. Sources close to the matter are saying that Som may take on the role as a consultant and that the partnership will be made public after New York Fashion Week. Why not during Fashion Week?
Ever since Audrey Hepburn‘s famed role as a lovable hooker in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, the little black dress has been made into a pop icon. More commonly referred to as the “LBD”, this classic cocktail must-have is now considered the closet staple of the chic modern woman and the trendy “it” girl alike. Being the piece that no woman can live without, the problem is finding the perfect LBD that fits one’s body and style. Everybody is different, so the same dress over and over just won’t do. One must remain chic, poised, classic, and as “unclockable” as possible! The term “clocking” in this sense refers to the dress being recognized for being worn before at previous social functions. One should be noticeably chic, NOT pathetically repetitive. That being said, as with any classic closet staple, this baby has some rules:

Outerwear
Jackets, Coats and Sweaters speak in Volume to me. Think about it when its cold and you are outdoors it’s the only thing people can see so never mind that awesome T-shirt you got at the Cher concert (remind me to kick you in the shin later).
Jackets: They should be dark and a size bigger. I know you want to cinch your wait but it won’t serve its purpose if you can’t wear layers underneath it. Quilted ones are great, puffy ones, short ones, long ones just make sure its warm and is graphic free and preferable logo free.

With the recession talk still buzzing I’m deathly afraid to even talk trends as anything trendy could be considered frivolous. As excess and flash continue to make its way out, I now wonder is your closet recession proof? Do you have great season-less pieces or everything Cavalli put out last season? You do huh? Don’t fret because I have a list of staples that any closet must have. From slacks to pumps I’ll show you some pieces that are more necessary to your closet than your husband’s Amex. The examples below are for illustration purposes only. I am in no way shape or form saying that you need a Burberry Polo or an Alexander McQueen T-Shirt for $300 USD as I don’t believe in spending an arm and a leg on clothes. Shoes and handbags are a different story.
TOPS
Tops are essential because they will make up a large part of your closet.
Button Downs: You should have a least 1 – 4 button downs in neutral colors i.e black, white, light blue, grey, etc. These will be great for work, PTA meetings, lunch with the husband ect.
