Sex and the City Movie DVD Giveaway

Let me start out by saying that the Sex and the City
movie was AMAZING. I can’t remember the last time a movie took me though such an emotional journey. I laughed, I felt sad, I cried, I laughed some more, I wanted to choke Big I mean I was a wreck. I felt like one of those actors on the Dr. Phil show (I am in no way saying that the cast members appearing on Dr. Phil’s show are paid actors, the gig could be pro-bono). The Sex and the City movie made The Devil Wears Prada look like an after school special. The casting was superb; take the scene where Carrie is shooting for Vogue Patrick Demarchelier was the photographer, Andre Leon Talley was the stylist among other vogue staffers. And the labels they wore or had sitting on their credenza (Charlotte’s I Love New York Gucci Bag). I guess I’m happy that I can hear because if I were deaf I would interpret the movie as a two-hour fashion show with actresses instead of models. I just got the DVD and I cannot wait to watch it on repeat. Don’t worry I got you one too. I know you’re only reading this post to get the DVD, and I am not mad at you because I’d be doing the same thing too. Maybe even twice if I could get away with it, don’t get any funny ideas now. …Click to continue reading | Sex and the City Movie DVD Giveaway

10 Must Have Shoes For Fall 08

I honestly will flat out come out and say that I have a shoe fetish. Not the odd kind where I want to mount the shoe but the feeling that I get when I slip on that pair of stiletto, or ankle boot. There is something about shoes that changes everything, it makes you happy, changes your posture, enhances your calves, makes you look taller I mean I can go on. My two main reasons for loving shoes are the height and the statement. Shoes make more of a statement than clothes sometimes. If you live in off the rack clothing like 99% of us then you can agree when I say the right shoes can make or break a look. I don’t spend very much on clothing so I can splurge on shoes and accessories. My main shoe collection consists of pumps, black pumps to be exact.

If you saw my closet 3 months ago you’d swear I was an administrative assistant from left to right in one line were all black pumps. Its not that I didn’t like other shoes, it was just my preference and what I could find that worked for me. Plus black is slimming and I wear a size 10 so anything that I can do to minimize the size of my canoes is usually taken into serious consideration i.e. not wearing cut outs or peep toes. …Click to continue reading | 10 Must Have Shoes For Fall 08

7 Days Untill Funkshion: Fashion Week Miami Beach

For the past four seasons I’ve been a permanent fixture at Funkshion: Fashion Week Miami Beach. So I can’t begin to tell you how thrilled I am to take my seat front row next Tuesday where I will be bringing you up to the minute coverage of all the shows. This season also brings some changes such as venue and the inclusion of the COAST Trade Show. Funkshion: Fashion Week Miami Beach will be held at the Miami Botanical Garden on convention center drive instead of last years Lummus Park. Also this year the Go Red for Women show is being presented at the tents on October 2nd.

The Go Red for Women show is a charity fashion show where major celebrities and socialites are used as models and wear red custom designer dresses to benefit Go Red for Women a campaign from the American Heart Association. Designers in the past include Marc Jacobs, Donna Karen, Catherine Malendrino, Michael Kors, Max Azria Atelier and numerous others. Each dress will be auctioned off where 100% of the proceeds will benefit the Go Red for women movement.

Here’s a photo recap of last season.

The second day of shows I flew in from Los Angeles to Miami jet lagged and not feeling well, something about flying commercial from the West Coast to the East Coast always makes me nauseous. Since I took the Red Eye I missed day one, besides it was only one show.

Day 2:

My hair was too long and I didn’t have time to trim it so I pulled it together with some Skinny jeans, a hooded chunky knit sweater to hide my fro and my shoe of choice for last season, the Atlantic City pumps. The Atlantic City pump is a 5inch stiletto with a built in platform.

The Hills: Stephanie Pratt is a Shady Bitch!

Lauren "LC" Conrad

Lauren " LC" Conrad

If you watch The Hills I know you know what I’m talking about when I say her last name says it all but I was willing to give her some credit until tonight. For those of you who don’t watch The Hills on MTV let me bring you up to speed. Lauren Conrad or LC used to be on Laguna Beach then that fell off and she starred on her new spin-off The Hills. She moved from Laguna to LA and started attending FIDM: Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising along with Heidi Montag. Heidi being the social butterfly that she is decided that she wanted to be a door girl at clubs and got a job at Bolthouse which left her no time for school so she dropped out while LC interned at Teen Vogue. LC and Heidi were the best of friends, roommates, shopping buddies; these girls were joined at the hips. …Click to continue reading | The Hills: Stephanie Pratt is a Shady Bitch!

Fur and Fringe Oh My!

Not in a million years would I’ve believed someone if they told me that I Jet Set Junior or just Junior in some circles would be caught wearing fringe boots. I mean that’s something that even TMZ couldn’t catch on film. But believe it or not I did, I guess I was afraid of the fringe because of all the character. I do have a thing against too much character, as it could become a joke if overdone i.e. a Spanish person living in a Spanish style house. Does anyone see where I’m going with this? That being said after starring at the boots for three weeks I decided it was time for me to try them on and style them my way. Not how anybody else would wear them but how Junior would, you can say I Junior-ized it. For a top I chose a button down short sleeve shirt, a Chinchilla vest, Skinny Jeans as a bottom, and the piece de resistance the fringe boots.

Sébastien Jondeau: Model, Bodyguard, & my Future Husband

So I was watching the Chanel Resort09 show when I came across this male model. If anyone knows European designers they tend to use male models that look like male models (plain, and tall) not amazing man meat that I want to lust over. Enter Sebatien Jondeau, model by day bodyguard to Karl Lagerfeld by night. Sebastien is beyond delicious from his serious mug to his funky hair and sharp cheekbones. Now I don’t know if it’s because he’s a model and a bodyguard or the fact that I want to be Whitney Houston and have him play my bodyguard that gets me all hot and bothered either way my pants are still feeling a little extra tight…haaaahaa.

FYI
Arrange your transportation before your departure. I recommend using Gray Line or T.T.A as they are the only two companies licensed by the Cancun International airport.

Nightlife

The nightlife in Cancún only compares to the night life in Miami, although it is slightly more X Rated. The clubs pack loads of entertainment, from costume clad go-go dancers to live performances. The party starts at 10pm and ends at sunrise.

DaddyO’s
Dubbed the best club in Cancún, it has a lively atmosphere and plays a mash of all genres.

FYI
Driving Vs Taxi. If you plan on venturing outside of Cancun then renting a car is best. However parking is scarce and Police routinely stop visitors and occasionally will ask for a bribe to release your license. The Hotel Zone or Zona Hotelera has plenty to do and cabs are recommended, especially at night as some roads aren’t well lit.

Excursions

For an unforgettable experience swim with the dolphins at the Interactive Aquarium located inside of the La Isla Shopping Village. Golf anyone? Swing by the golf courses at Playa Mujeres; designed by Greg Norman, see you at the 9th hole.

Beaches

All of the hotels in the hotel zone have beaches. Cancún does offer some public beaches but they lack perks such as sun shelters, beach waiters, bars, towels to name a few.

Shopping

The only difference in shopping in Cancún is that price tags reflect the price in Pesos instead your local currency. Cancún has a lot of shopping destinations from street markets to high-end boutiques, malls and everything else in between.

La Isla Shopping Village
A trip to La Isla Shopping Village will leave you reminiscing of Venice, with its open-air architecture and a series of Venetian canals. La Isla has more than 120 stores, including Zara, Nike Cancun, and United Colors of Benetton, restaurants, clubs and a movie theater.

Luxury Avenue
Luxury Avenue; known as a “Boutique Mall” offers high end boutiques such as Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Burberry, Fendi, Salvatore Ferragamo and specialty gift shops including Baccarat, Christoffle, Lladro and Swarovski. While the Centurion card takes a break, stop by Segafredo’s for Italian coffee and specialty desserts.

FYI
While sun bathing don’t be surprised if you spot natives selling ethnic accessories, painted sea shells, and other hand made knick knacks along the beach.

The Bank Nightclub @ Bellagio 9.18.08

Yesterday my buddy Sam (I will introduce Sam on a new post) invited me to The Bank at the Bellagio, not having been there before I accepted his invitation. So its 11pm and we’re on the road, we get to the Bellagio meet some people and in we go. The Bank is probably one of the nicest clubs here in Vegas. Take the entrance, two escalators going up, the walls are adored with textured wallpaper and of course a parade of chandeliers. The club itself sits on three levels, which makes for great design or a nightmare if you’re drunk. Now if its one thing that I love about non-gay clubs it’s the music. I know I’m gay but please spare me the dance/tweaked out queen music because there is only so much Madonna that I can take before I want to cut someone. Not that I’m violent or anything I’m just saying. I prefer my music on the Hip Hop/R&B/Rap side. And boy did the DJ deliver, he took us on a two decade remix hitting the the 90’s and 2000’s with some old school Diddy and Biggie mixed with Katty Perry with a litte Ciara on top. OK enough Txt check out the pics !!!!
