For most people traveling is an escape from their daily mundane lives, so they welcome the idea of a smaller space for a short amount of time in order to experience a different city and have fun. For others its a Haute getaway sometimes spurred by the need to simply relax. Being confined to a space that is not paralleled to their normal standard of living simply isn’t an option. Enter the SkyLofts at MGM Grand, a loft so well thought out it leaves no room for questions and has anticipated the needs of its guests. I had the pleasure of touring this Haute Property last night during the Tweet Your Way To SkyLofts event. SkyLofts are available in 1, 2, and 3 bedroom configurations. I toured the 2 bedroom 2 1/2 bath loft which encompasses over 3,000 SQ FT of living space. To include a kitchen, an office, a master suite with a walk in closet and private workout room, a guest suite that sleeps 2 , a living room, a non formal and a formal dining room, various lounging areas, a balcony and the fabulous outdoor dip pool with unparalleled views of the strip. The lofts are outfitted almost exclusively with Bang & Olufsen products including phones, speakers, and televisions with the exception of various iPod docks. Sprawling across two floors the loft is available at nightly rates starting at $5,000 based on season and demand.

British fashion designer Alexander McQueen has been found dead after taking his own life.
The 40-year-old committed suicide just three years after his close friend, Isabella Blow – who plucked him from obscurity and helped him become a star – killed herself.
A source at McQueen’s office this afternoon confirmed his death, saying: ‘It is a tragic loss. We are not making a comment at this time out of respect for the McQueen family.’
His death comes just days before the start of London Fashion Week and weeks before he was due to unveil his new collection at Paris Fashion Week on March 9.
Jimmy Choo is giving those in the high end kicks/sneakers market; the likes of Prada, Lanvin, and Louis Vuitton a little competition. After the Jimmy Choo X UGG Australia debacle/news I cant wait to see these in the shops in May. The capsule collection includes 8 styles, 5 high tops and 3 low tops. Like all things Jimmy Choo the materials are luxurious. The sneakers are crafted out of Patent Leather and Suede, there’s even a snake embossed pair. Hitting the Jimmy Choo stores and online in May, the sneakers range from $465 for low tops and $595 for high tops. The Black Patent and Suede pair is calling my name, will I answer? I’ll let you know in May.
Although I am coming down from my Bag and Shoe high and focusing more on clothes, I cant help but covet some of these clutches. From Fendi to Miu Miu these clutches will take you from the office to the nightclub and even behind close doors (not judging but someone has to pay for that Judith Leiber).
Day and Night
The Miu Miu Oversized Leather Glazed Clutch is the perfect clutch for the busy city girl. This clutch is large enough to fit your essentials for work and by hiding the strap you can go from the office to the tents at Bryant Park.
Sleek-ster
I heart Lizard but as you know since it is an exotic it can be costly. Not the case here with this Stamped Lizard Fendi bag done in a patent leather finish. Its sleek enough to wear with Jeans and a Balmain Jacket while taking the kids to Dalton or out on date to Cipriani with that certain Russian playboy.
More Fabulosity after the jump

I’ve been asked “What color Hermes Birkin should I buy?” too many times so here comes the answer. My first thought was, that’s like asking me to tell you what your favorite color is. Although I can’t pick a color that will simply be the best for everyone, I can however show you how to find the right color. Please remember that color options vary by budget, so if have unlimited cash then 5 or 6 colors should make a great collection. But if you’re simply looking to buy only 1 then we need to look at your closet. As you search through your closet look for common color patterns; if the bulk of your closet is Black, White, and Grey then a neutral colored Birkin should work i.e. Parchment, Etoupe, Blue Ciel, Gold.

Hermes Birkin Color Chart
If you mostly wear bright colors then maybe try darker colored Birkins i.e Vert Fonce, Raisin, Blue Marin, Bleu Marin. The only time I would recommend brighter colors such as Lagoon, Blue Jean, Orange, Rouge Vif, Vert Anis, Jaune is if you plan on creating a collection around it, or live somewhere considered to have a spring/summer feel year round. The last thing you want to be is the girl who has 1 yellow Birkin and wears it during Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter. As for me a Black 40 cm Togo Birkin would be ideal but I’ve come to grow fond of Etoupe, Blue Brighton, and Graphite as they would all play well in my closet. Hope that helps, If not just go with your favorite color and hope for the best.

What do you think about Lady Gaga?
Such a gimmick. I liker her but sometimes she kills me. Like is she seriously the same person on stage and offstage. I’m soon to be over it.

Ya its a bit much.
I told my friend and we didn’t agree. Her outfit for the Grammy’s killed me. Seriously? At least wear Dior Couture if you want crazy not a pink space bubble tube..

Amanda
Thank You!!!
I really think Armani should have said “Oh honey no, we love you but this is not part of our DNA. Call Thierry Mugler or Bob Mackie”.

Exactly!
Lady Gaga Orbits Earth at the 2010 Grammy Awards in ArmaniPARIS—In between fashion shows Monday, Anna Wintour, the influential editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine, told French officials that the country doesn’t do enough to support its fashion sector, industry minister Christian Estrosi said.
Ms. Wintour encouraged the French government to provide more backing for young designers, according to Mr. Estrosi.
“She’s right” that France falls short in backing its fashion industry, Mr. Estrosi said during a press conference at which Ms. Wintour rescinded her presence. “Everyone knows the role Anna plays in making New York a great fashion capital. My objective was to benefit from her experience.”

This whole extreme Photoshop business has me thinking, can we really put an end to it? This is where it gets complicated, Photoshop is needed in the industry but it is widely misused. How do you fix it? Well you can’t. Because in order to fix it you’d have to get everybody who uses it on board. I think publishers can start by doing their part to not abuse it, but what about the ads? Even if a magazine chose to be fair when editing its images you still have the ads which are sometimes produced elsewhere. Which would leave the consumer with a conflicting message, ” We respectively use Photoshop, but can’t say the same for our advertisers”. Also when flipping through the pages of the magazine you’d start to notice the difference between real and overly edited subjects. So what can the industry do? Everyone needs to do their part and use Photoshop with restraint and years down the road we may see a difference. If not Abode will create a Photoshop face mask so that we may always look our very best, whether we’re doing laundry or running over people in the Hamptons with our Mercedes M-Class (I miss Lizzie Grubman).

On the Left: Is an overly retouched photo of Demi Moore. On the Right: Is an un-edited image.
You can always tell when I didn’t put much thought into an outfit when it’s this simple. But it worked out so I can’t complain. This one was taken at “Closet Sundays” at Revolution inside The Mirage.

What I’m Wearing:
T-Shirt: Kira Plastinina (It’s the employee Shirt, Don’t ask me how I got it)
Jeans: Old Navy
Wrist wear: Black Tory Burch Lucite Cuff
Clutch: BCBG
