If there’s one publisher that can make buying books Tres Chic, its ASSOULINE. Not only because they publish the most complete set of Fashion Related books, but the store itself resembles a personal library. Books are displayed on over sized wood tables, there’s a quaint sitting area, and the cash wrap simply floats with no register in sight. They held their Grand Opening today hosted by Model, Author, and Real Housewife of New York Kelly Killoren Bensimon. Upon entering the shop I couldn’t help but be mesmerized by Kelly. She was perched on a table with her legs crossed.

Dressed in a black tank top, cropped leather jacket, Hervé Léger skirt, and Manolo Blahnik shoes she was surrounded by piles of The Bikini Book and American Style which she penned. Kelly was extremely kind in noticing my outfit and was very happy to accommodate my request. I had a copy of The Fashion Questionnaire book and asked if she would answer a question or two and sign it. She not only signed it but she answered almost all of the questions (I’ll post her answers soon). After my moment with Kelly I continued browsing through their selection of books and realized that I own quite a few of ASSOULINE books. Now if they ever add a cafe, I’ll be blogging from ASSOULINE Las Vegas via my BlackBerry.

On Friday I had the pleasure of hosting A Summer Affair With Fall Flair at Giuseppe Zanotti. The shopping event brought out the Las Vegas taste makers as well as the international elite with Hermes Birkin in tow. While the DJ set the mood for shopping guest enjoyed a few too many devilishly good cupcakes from The Cupcakery while washing it down with Champagne. Favorites of the evening were the Suede Boots with Stars (as seen on the invitation) embellished with Swarovski Crystal elements, the cork pump, the satin pumps with crystal broach at the toe (a wedding shoe for a client), and all sorts of other Giuseppe Fall must haves.

I am delighted to announce that I will be hosting a Shopping Event at the Tory Burch Boutique in Las Vegas. (Gasp) The event is next Thursday, July 16th at the Forum Shops location inside of Caesars Palace. Tory Burch and the retail team have been extremely kind and will provide a 20% discount on all full price merchandise. For years the sounds of the play Chicago have been ailing theater enthusiasts and thespians the world over. Naturally being a huge fan of the musical myself, I knew the Adrienne Arsht Center‘s version couldn’t too bad. With every new production that the performing arts center procures, my faith in a cultured Miami somehow intensifies! To my relief, this experience was no exception. I went into the show with neutral expectations, as one never knows what to expect from live performances. Gladly I was both enchanted and surprised with the production quality and the countless jaunty twists thrown in! Even if you think you know Chicago well, it is most certainly worth giving this rendition your attention!

Taking notes from Chanel’s Mobile Art Project, Prada has unveiled a cultural project of its own. The Italian Label has launched its most ambitious cultural project to date, The Prada Transformer. Designed by renowned architect Rem Koolhaas, the Prada Transformer is a one-of-a-kind tetrahedron-shaped pavilion. The Prada Transformer will be the venue for events devoted to art, film, fashion and of course, the Prada brand, for the next six months. Koolhaas described the Transformer as a “dynamic organism,” since the steel-framed structure can be rotated into four distinct floor planes: hexagonal, rectangular, cruciform and circular, to fit the specific events.
