Today’s daily lust is more of a ” I need to sell everything that I don’t use and stop eating for two weeks” situation. I am enamored with the Yves Saint Laurent Muse Tote in Patent Leather. The YSL muse embodies my daily lifestyle, a bag stylish and big enough to carry my daily necessities yet classic in shape. I also adore the simple yet exquisite details such as the top stitching, satin lining, double pockets and functional key. This YSL muse will be mine in due time, meanwhile you can get one at YSL.com for $1395 USD. If you feel inclined to donate one to me I will more than happy to return the favor in the near future, as you know my birthday is only 2 days away.
The Ray-Ban Wayfarer is Jet-Set staple. The perfect pair of sunglasses to wear as you exit the Citation V in St.Barths and hop inside the chauffeured Maybach. The Wayfarer style was designed in 1952 and made popular by Audrey Hepburn who wore them in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The Ray-Ban wayfarer is made in Italy; the frame is plastic while the lenses are mineral tinted glass.
The hottest accessory this season is a great scarf. It can be used to enhance not only your look but your bag as well. The Henry Silk Scarf by Twenty8Twelve is a must add to any wardrobe. Twenty8Twelve is designed by sisters Sienna and Savannah Miller. A great way to wear this scarf would be over a T-Shirt, skinny jeans in a dark wash and booties. The scarf retail for $250 USD is available at Eluxury.com
Whether you call them Kicks, High Tops, Low Tops, or plain old sneakers they play a big part of our lives. I don’t want to hurt the feelings of my stilettos when I say this but I love sneakers. For one you can’t wear stilettos jogging (the treadmill doesn’t count) and two they are just so cute and comfy. I remember growing up we didn’t have that many options for brands let alone design. Now sneakers come in every imaginable fabric, color, skin, and shape possible. I’d go to summer school for three month if it meant I got some patent leather chucks. My earliest memory of a sneaker causing a commotion was in 1997 when I showed up to my elementary school with the new Jordan’s.
Day two can only be describe as amazingly busy. I always seem to think that everything takes 15 minutes and they usually end up taking an hour. When I woke up my schedule had 3 appointments and 1 task, by the end of the day it was more like 6 appointments and 20 tasks. Reese came over in the am so we could get an early start and that so didn’t happen. We started chatting, lost track of time and ended up watching Fashion TV as I made pot stickers. Two hours later we finally left the apartment in search of a shoe store, after walking aimlessly on Collins Ave then Washington Ave we stumbled on Soles Inc(not the right store) . Soles Inc is a great little sneaker boutique hidden on 12th street between Washington and Collins. I got the cutest grey T-shirt there with purple graphics on one side. Pitt stop at Starbucks for Vanilla Scones, a light vanilla bean frap with whip, a muffin and a bottle of water. …Click to continue reading | Fashion Week Trip: Day 2
As you know I am slated to attend the Kira Plastinina runway show during Funkshion: Fashion Week Miami Beach on October 3rd. With that said I wanted to not only see what the buzz is about but also support her by purchasing a piece to wear to the show. Kira Plastina is a 15-year-old Russian designer, yes 15 (doesn’t that just make you feel lazy). As a child Kira Plastinina was always fascinated with fashion and design, she loved sketching and creating garments for her dolls. In 2004 her father asked to see some her sketches and after a long conversation Kira Plastinina the brand was formed. Her father Sergei Plastinin made his fortune importing concentrated orange juice. His company is valued at over 5 billion dollars. Kira Plastinina has five stores in the US and 49 in Russian, the Ukraine and Kazakhstan. I had the pleasure of going to the shop in Las Vegas at Fashion Show Mall and it was J’adorable. …Click to continue reading | Kira Plastinina: The 15-Year-Old Fashion Design Prodigy
I honestly will flat out come out and say that I have a shoe fetish. Not the odd kind where I want to mount the shoe but the feeling that I get when I slip on that pair of stiletto, or ankle boot. There is something about shoes that changes everything, it makes you happy, changes your posture, enhances your calves, makes you look taller I mean I can go on. My two main reasons for loving shoes are the height and the statement. Shoes make more of a statement than clothes sometimes. If you live in off the rack clothing like 99% of us then you can agree when I say the right shoes can make or break a look. I don’t spend very much on clothing so I can splurge on shoes and accessories. My main shoe collection consists of pumps, black pumps to be exact.
If you saw my closet 3 months ago you’d swear I was an administrative assistant from left to right in one line were all black pumps. Its not that I didn’t like other shoes, it was just my preference and what I could find that worked for me. Plus black is slimming and I wear a size 10 so anything that I can do to minimize the size of my canoes is usually taken into serious consideration i.e. not wearing cut outs or peep toes. …Click to continue reading | 10 Must Have Shoes For Fall 08
Not in a million years would I’ve believed someone if they told me that I Jet Set Junior or just Junior in some circles would be caught wearing fringe boots. I mean that’s something that even TMZ couldn’t catch on film. But believe it or not I did, I guess I was afraid of the fringe because of all the character. I do have a thing against too much character, as it could become a joke if overdone i.e. a Spanish person living in a Spanish style house. Does anyone see where I’m going with this? That being said after starring at the boots for three weeks I decided it was time for me to try them on and style them my way. Not how anybody else would wear them but how Junior would, you can say I Junior-ized it. For a top I chose a button down short sleeve shirt, a Chinchilla vest, Skinny Jeans as a bottom, and the piece de resistance the fringe boots.
