PARIS—In between fashion shows Monday, Anna Wintour, the influential editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine, told French officials that the country doesn’t do enough to support its fashion sector, industry minister Christian Estrosi said.

Ms. Wintour encouraged the French government to provide more backing for young designers, according to Mr. Estrosi.

“She’s right” that France falls short in backing its fashion industry, Mr. Estrosi said during a press conference at which Ms. Wintour rescinded her presence. “Everyone knows the role Anna plays in making New York a great fashion capital. My objective was to benefit from her experience.”

On Sunday 60 minutesshowed their profile of Anna Wintour in a piece called “Anna Wintour, behind the shades“. I missed it on Sunday but managed to find the clip on CBS.com where Morely Safer interviewed her. The piece was 1 part informational and 1 part satire. Miss Morley Safer seemed to be throwing more shade than Anna. Though the clip is roughly 13 minutes long, I’ve highlighted some of his satirical quotes.

So on Tuesday Anna Wintour was at the 92 Street Y doing an interview with Loews Corp. chairman Jonathan Tisch when these PETA animals protestors got crazy. They starting shouting the usuals ” you animal killer”, “Anna Wintour, Fur Shame” and a bunch of other non sense. As they took the dogs PETA protestors out of the venue unnerved but their shenanigans Anna continued with “As I was saying, fashion means a lot of different things to a lot of different people.” “Vogue is there to report on the fashion industry. Fur is part of fashion and we will continue to report on it as long as that is the case.” And that’s how its done. Then again when you’ve taken so many pies in the face from these monsters I guess you learn to treat them like the nuisance they are. I swear if didn’t like fur before PETA would be the reason why I’d run out and get a shaved mink vest from J Mendel.

As you may be aware of Anna Wintour’s contract at Vogue is due to expire at the end of the year. Now rumor has it that she could be possibly replaced by French Vogue Editor Carine Roitfeld. This scene is straight out of The Devil Wears Prada. Now i just hope that Andrea got to her soon enough to warn her. Oh say it ain’t so. Anna no longer at Vogue? She’s been there for 20 years, I know she’s made some bad decisions but her better ones are what kept the magazine alive and thriving.
