This really shouldn’t be news as it should have been done years ago but it is. Don’t get too exited as you wont be able to purchase a Chanel 2.55 in caviar online but you will be able to get Chanel No 5 and later eyewear and accessories. Developed by R/GA New York the platform will launch near the end of the year. Unlike Chanel the Marc Jacobs site will feature select pieces from various collections as well as accessories and fragrances. The Marc Jacobs ecommerce is set to go live in August.

Although I am coming down from my Bag and Shoe high and focusing more on clothes, I cant help but covet some of these clutches. I heart Lizard but as you know since it is an exotic it can be costly. Not the case here with this Stamped Lizard Fendi bag done in a patent leather finish. Rumor has it that Marc Jacobs and his Ad Executive boyfriend Lorenzo Martone are engaged. Last year a similar rumor emerged but according to a representative from the Louis Vuitton press office in Paris “They’re just rumors” and that “there’s no truth to it at all”. But an unnamed source did tell PageSix.com that the couple did make a “civil solidarity pact” because same sex marriages are not yet legal in France. The two have been dating for over a year and at the moment Marc is in Brazil reportedly meeting Lorenzo’s mom.

To pay homage to the late designer/artist Stephen Sprouse, Louis Vuitton Creative Director Marc Jacobs is reinventing his graffiti collection from 2001. The new Stephen Sprouse Limited Edition Collection for Louis Vuitton will feature Ready to Wear and Accessories. Stephen Sprouse’s graffiti and rose motifs will be interpreted on the Neverfull, Speedy and Keepall collection of bags, as well as shoes, leggings, sunglasses, coats, and small leather goods. The collection will hit stores January 9th to coincide with the “Rock on Mars” retrospective at Deitch Projects and “The Stephen Sprouse Book” by Roger Padilha and Mauricio Padilha.

Marc Jacobs has always offered a snippet of swimwear but never a full collection. Earlier this week Jacobs signed a licensing agreement with Swimwear Anywhere Inc., to manufacture the collection. Swimwear Anywhere Inc., is the go to swimwear licensing firm for Juicy Couture, Michael Kors, DKNY Swim, Carmen Marc Valvo and a slew of other designers. The Marc by Marc Jacobs swimwear collection will feature swim separates and beachwear.
