I was walking through Forum Shops at Caesars Palace on Tuesday when I remember seeing a coming soon sign a couple of months back for Balenciaga. They recently opened so I popped in for a visit. I must say the best thing to happen to Balenciaga besides the founder Cristobal Balenciaga is Nicolas Ghesquière. He single handedly put Balenciaga on the mainstream fashion map with his iconic Motorcycle Bag and avant-garde collections that never cease to attract a slew of media attention. Upon entering the store you can’t help but be mesmerized by the asymmetrical and space like architecture. The bags are presented on silo like display tables and eyewear is displayed inside the “iceberg” an accessory fixture. Nicolas Ghesquière developed the concept in a joint partnership with French Artist Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster. Currently Balenciaga has 3 shops in the US; Los Angeles, New York and now Las Vegas.
