Miss USA™ 2009: 20% Pageant 80% Comedy

Miss USA™ 2009: 20% Pageant 80% Comedy

Having experienced the “Pageant Lifestyle” first hand I can now be more critical of it than ever before. I know a lot of people think these girls are an inspiration to fashion but I’m here to say otherwise. Pageant winners are an inspiration to their community, themselves, and stage actors. Since they are on stage 90% of the time parading around and showing their talents the fashions they wear are always outlandish, bold and even tacky at times. They wear lime as if it was black and Cubic Zirconia’s as if it they were pearls. But all that is small talk compared to their headshots, 5% smile, 5% personality, 20% beauty and 70% photoshopped. I wont knock down Photoshop but I will knock down an image that is badly photoshopped. Here is my top 10 “ Umm is she seriously a contestant” for the 2009 Miss USA™ pageant list.

Not that Sarah Palin set a great example for Miss Alaska but boy did they drop the ball on this one. I hope Ashton comes out soon because I’m being Punk’d by the Miss Universe organization. Donald this is not funny. Ok at first it was funny but now I wanna cry, she looks so sad as if her eyes are saying “ I will freeze myself in a block of ice if I don’t win”.

Miss Alaska USA 2009 Jessica Irene Nolin

Miss Kansas looks like Morticia from the Adams Family after leaving M.A.C

Miss Kansas 2009 Courtney Courter

Miss Massachusetts’s picture was apparently taken in the 90’s. What’s with the vintage feel? Plus she looks more like 40 instead of 21.

Miss Michigan not only took the picture using the self-timer on her camera but she edited it using Microsoft Paint.

Did Miss Missouri actually compete at Miss Misouri USA™ or did her dad pay for her title she come in at large?

Miss Missouri usa 2009 Stacey Smith

I’d like to see a birth certificate Miss New Hampshire. I’m almost sure that Her and Miss Massachusetts play bridge together at Shady Pines.

Miss New Hampshire usa 2009 Christy Lynn Dunn

Umm who approved this headshot? Miss New Mexico obviously went into the wrong ballroom when she competed for Miss New Mexico. Miss Extra Terrestrial was in 106 A not 106 B.

Miss New Mexico USA 2009 Bianca Matamoros-Koonce

Miss North Dakota is so wrong for taking this picture off her Match.com profile, shame on you and those pixels.

Miss North Dakota USA 2009 Kelsey Erickson

LMAO, Miss Oregon is way too easy.

Miss Oregon USA 2009 Sylvie Tarpinian

I heart Miss Idaho, any girl who can take her headshot wearing her pool cover up gets my vote. Plus I love the pixels, it takes me back to the days when 4 Mega pixel cameras were expensive and high res images were a myth.

Miss Idaho USA 2009 Melissa Weber

I will end this post by saying these girls are a necessity to the 2009 Miss USA™ pageant because: 1. We need something to laugh at and 2. They make the judges jobs way easier. If any pageant coaches are reading this please call these girls as they are badly in need of a good coach, and if any of the contestants are reading this please don’t email me unless a(n) better face image is attached.

Miss USA™ 2009 will air April 19 on NBC.

  • @alotta: LMAO, broke down housewife yesss. I think the 10 girls above not only prove but exhaust your point. Like I said if the prettiest girl can't win then some states shouldn't compete.
  • alotta alotta angina
Or in this case it isn't always the prettiest girl that wins the state pageant. You should have seen the picture of Miss Louisana. Now that girl looks like a broke down housewife of new orleans.
  • @ Jeremy Spenser

Yes it did cross my mind that one if not all of these girls would see my comments, which is exactly why I said “if any of the contestants are reading this please don’t email me unless a(n) better face image is attached.” I will be more than happy to remove a picture and take my comments back once I’ve received another picture, but since my comments are purely based on their submitted headshots then No. Respective State? In that case some states shouldn’t compete. As for me not having anything nice to say, I can easily say well if you don’t like what I write don’t read it. We’ve all had nasty things said about us but you build a tough skin and you move the hell on. This is the real world and if you decide to go on national TV you better be ready for the good, the bad and the nasty. Pageants are not Girl Scouts's meetings, it’s a vicious competition where the pretty girl wins and the ugly girls go home and cry to their parents.

Wake up and smell the disappointment.

    To Jetset:
Did it ever cross your mind that some of these girls might see your comments?
I agree, there are some that are out of their league.
In any event they were chosen at their respective state pageants and are actually having insecurities themselves about competing on a national level.
I just think if you don't have anything nice to say....why say anything?
I've certainly had enough cruel things said about me and it hurts.
I would never want to inflict that pain on anyone else simply for the sake of showing how witty I am on a internet blog.
  • @Jeremy Spenser:
This post was not intended to be “mean” but shed light on some of the girls who are not pageant worthy. I've worked with some of these girls before and they are amazing but they never win for a reason. Check the Miss USA web site look at all 50 states like I did then you'll see my point. If you're going to compete at the national level you need to bring it or else stay your ass home in Idaho.

My meanness stems from my insecurity, Oh Puh-Leaze. These girls are asking to be judged and I’ve talked to some of these judges and trust me when I say my post was PG 13 compared to the shit I’ve heard them say. As for me wanting to look as good as them yes, you’re right. I’m dying to have sad eyes like Miss Alaska, cast spells like Miss Kansas, and full of botox like Miss Oregon. Yes, that’s exactly what I want in life.

You should be lucky these beasts are getting some press.
  • Jeremy Spenser
Well, all I can say is we've seen your picture and no matter how many designer labels you pack on that broken down carcass of yours you could only hope look this good
Plus your meaness stems from your insecurity.
  • givenchic
wasn't miss kansas in Twilight? lol
  • poshglambaby
o and one more thing....miss new mexico looks like she should have competed on rupaul's drag race. There! now i m done! lol
  • poshglambaby
those are the most BASIC/ Ma and Pa kettle bitches i have EVER seen competing for a beauty contest....and i'm no hater, i know i'm not perfect, but i actually DO look better than ALL of these girls! where is Ms. Alaska's upper lip? Ms. Idaho looks like a girls gone wild ho, and M. North Dakota looks like every other woman i've ever met in my entire life. lol.ok, im done being mean. good luck girls! it's u got! hahaha!
  • stillelite
I have so much to say and agree with this GENIUS post that I will come back later LOL!!!!
