As you know I am slated to attend the Kira Plastinina runway show during Funkshion: Fashion Week Miami Beach on October 3rd. With that said I wanted to not only see what the buzz is about but also support her by purchasing a piece to wear to the show. Kira Plastina is a 15-year-old Russian designer, yes 15 (doesn’t that just make you feel lazy). As a child Kira Plastinina was always fascinated with fashion and design, she loved sketching and creating garments for her dolls. In 2004 her father asked to see some her sketches and after a long conversation Kira Plastinina the brand was formed. Her father Sergei Plastinin made his fortune importing concentrated orange juice. His company is valued at over 5 billion dollars. Kira Plastinina has five stores in the US and 49 in Russian, the Ukraine and Kazakhstan. I had the pleasure of going to the shop in Las Vegas at Fashion Show Mall and it was J’adorable.

Kira Plastinina loves Pink and it was evident in the store from the pink walls in the fitting rooms enhanced with a bold wallpaper and floor to ceiling framed mirrors to the Pink wrap around seat in the middle of the store accented with furry pillows. The store is designed with a clear vision, and a strong merchandise focus including a candy stand. The candy stand is full of branded Kira Plastinina chocolates and candies from Dylan’s Candy Bar. What’s more amazing than the shop is the team. In my search for a top to wear came Israel. Israel is an SA(Sales Associate) at Kira Plastina although new, he was very knowledgeable on the product. He picked out several options for me to try on from a black blazer with Kira Plastinina graphics on the back to a Hooded Knee Length Puff Coast. The coat was amazing, I’m going back for the jacket but I picked up a cute black t-shirt with graphics. I love t-shirts and Kira Plastinina had too many to choose from. This store is definitely worth the visit, if not only to shop but to support this amazing and talented young designer from Russia. As Beyonce once said in her song Cater to You “ you inspire me to do better”.
